About "UNBOUND" BY Laurie DeVault Laurie DeVault’s work lives in the liminality of contemporary midcentury andabstract expressionism. her mark-making employs biomorphic and looselyabstracted shapes in unabashed color. The artist translates a sense ofmovement, spontaneity, and energy through her non-representational formsand vibrant colors. Often evoking a joyful, dynamic atmosphere,More than occasionally, dancing lines intercede as if to encourage ourcontinued exploration into her dreamy translations. Laurie DeVault’s work isessentially unrestricted, unplanned, and “unbound.
