Car Lot - Sunny Mills

Sunny Mills is a multidisciplinary artist and photographer whose work explores memory, loss, and collective healing. After losing her home and studio in the Eaton Fire of January 2025, Mills returned to the ashes of Altadena with a donated large-format camera to create a tintype self-portrait. Working within the burn zone, she created over 400 images of individuals and sites irrevocably changed by the disaster. Through this process, Mills found an unexpected sense of collective healing, an exchange between artist and subject rooted in presence, vulnerability, and remembrance. instagram: @sunshine_acid
