Jeffery Plansker

Born in Detroit 1963

Center For Creative Studies Detroit

School Of The Museum Of Fine Arts Boston / Tufts University - BFA

School Of The Art Institute Of Chicago - MFA

My work is a pursuit of the collision between commercial images and "fine art". The slick and finished production of one meeting the absurd or personal of the other. I have found myself in this place with the creation of graphic design, TV commercials and music videos for forty plus years.

Much of this work has taken the form of something l've dubbed "Subvertising". A direct response to a life within the ad world from birth. A simultaneous rebuke and celebration. Don Van Vliet meets Don Draper.

These orange/pink paintings are about "what not to do". By this I mean the exercise of restraint and the search for simultaneous graphic strength and eye control while culling through the vast

"commercial" world of ephemera and detritus.

Laura Plansker

Laura Plansker's elaborately staged photo illustrations combine detailed, handcrafted sculpture with exacting photographic technique. Like storytellers constructing worlds of their own invention, Plansker uses scraps of fabric, clay eyeballs, flocking and fake fur to create her dimensionalized fables. She stages scenes that are simultaneously whimsical and full of unease.

Raised in Detroit, Michigan, Laura received a BFA from the College for Creative Studies, then interned at The Polaroid 20X24 Studio in New York City. In conjunction with photography, Laura has worked many years set decorating and constructing miniatures for both film and commercials. It is through this combination of fields that her work has developed into the detailed world of "Photo-Dioramas.”

Todd Lefelt

In 2022, Todd left his twenty-year corporate career in digital strategy to pursue abstract painting.

Since then, he's been studying with artist Robert Szot.

Using vivid colors, bold lines, and organic forms, Todd examines an ambiguity that is inherent in our experience of the world. His paintings become a mirror reflecting not just external forms, but the internal processes of perception itself. Central to Todd's work are themes of growth and decay, freedom and constraint, and control and chaos. As an emerging artist, developing his process and voice, he strives to create a cohesive collection of work that will elevate and expand these core themes.

Todd lives in Silver Lake Los Angeles with his wife, Holly, their two children, Ira and Izzy, and their two cats, Chip and Juno.

Chris Veltri

Born March 1971, Chris runs and operates Groove Merchant records in San Francisco. 35 years of house calls surrounding obsessive collectors has provided inspiration and source material for much of his present day work. Ephemeral detritus, and well aged counter culture debris in the form of scrap paper provides the canvas for much of his work. A background in illustration and custom hand lettering informs the direction and marries the two.

Nimrod Johnson

As an artist the objective is to create an imaginary bridge between the intangible and the visible, providing a space for contemplation and introspection. Through these creations, the intent is to invite you to question, to feel, and to seek a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world we inhabit. Acrylic is the artist's choice of mediums. His work covers a broad area of styles but he prefers painting in the abstract.

The author is a native Californian born and raised in South Los Angeles and grew up close to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. He attended elementary, junior high and high school in Los Angeles.

After graduating from high school, he attended California State University Long Beach where he received a bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting. He has worked in the business field of finance and accounting for the past 40 years. His foundational principles are rooted in his faith and his belief in God.
