Collection: A Courtesy of Mameh" Curated by Navai Toly

Curated by Navi Toly, the exhibition extends this maternal and bodily metaphor beyond the individual organism. Through painting, ceramics, assemblage, and dreamlike organic forms, the participating artists investigate how subjects are formed through systems of holding and exposure: familial memory, domestic space, collective history, fantasy, and the material environments that sustain or fail us. Their works do not simply represent care; they interrogate its conditions. What does it mean to be nourished? Who is permitted to feel safe? Which bodies are protected, and which are rendered available to extraction, neglect, or violence? How do we metabolize the absence of care, and how might we construct alternative forms of shelter?
